About the event

We are the Earth dancing her praise.

On September 25, we’ll gather at Heartward Sanctuary to honor the ancient love story between our Earth and Sun. Here at the Equinox, with the days and nights being equal length, we'll attune to this tipping point towards Fall. With greater and greater polarization and ecological extremes, we'll dance prayers much needed for balance.

For a full revolution, our evolving community has gathered in the open air to celebrate to this exquisite, cyclical dance. Even amidst a pandemic, we've gathered to celebrate this life-generating relationship through prayer, song, dance, play and elemental ritual attuned to the earth's rhythms and have deepened our relationship with this place and the spirits of the land here.

We too are part of nature. Attuning to these natural cycles also offers a way to honor the seasons of human life: our transitions, growth, struggles and celebrations. Each point on the wheel bringing its own ritual need and elemental medicine. In the wheel of life, fall corresponds with late adulthood. In the Chinese elemental system, this moment is the shift from earth to metal.  As we've been focused on earthy, foundational projects here at Heartward Sanctuary, you can expect some clay and sand to be featured in this ceremony.

Given the spaciousness of this outdoor sanctuary, we don't require masks during the ritual, but expect for folks to be respectful of various boundaries and risk tolerances. Please get consent before getting close, hugging or touching.

**We value inclusivity and sustainability

We are a predominantly Euro-ancestored community that celebrates diversity and welcomes people of all ages, races, nationalities, abilities, genders, orientations and vaccination status.

In an attempt to keep these gatherings accessible and also sustainable, we have a three-tiered pricing structure for this event. If you are interested to attend and the minimum cost is prohibiting, please let us know as we have a few work-trade positions available.
