Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge the Indigenous keepers of the lands where we now live and work including the Sissipihaw, Shakori, Eno, Occaneechi and Catawba tribes. As the current stewards of this land, we recognize the painful legacies and ongoing harms of Colonialism on the Native peoples by European settlers. We recognize that our current Capitalist systems of land-ownership perpetuate various harms on our waters, land and culture and we seek to be in relationship, reciprocity and repair with Indigenous communities.
